Last night I spoke at Hancock College to an old friend's class that she teaches. The students were Korean ESL student. The concept of volunteering and charity work is completely new to them, so I got to speak to them about my charity work, my book, and the charity work I'm currently doing.
It was absolutely wonderful to spread the word of "giving back". I really had a great time! If one student is inspired to volunteer, or they tell a friend who is in turn inspired, then I consider the speech a tremendous success.
I'll be speaking to more of her classes in the coming months, and I'm so honored to be able to spread the word of charity work. When you take the time to give back, it's truly indescribable.
